Abstract:
As showed by the analysis of the historian and political expert Pierre Rosan¬vallon on the crisis of democracy, nowadays we are witnessing a paradox: the
growth of democracies as regimes corresponds to a decrease in democracy as a form of society. Social inequalities are increasing, thereby producing a silent deconstruction of social bonds and solidarity. At the same time, the solution is not just a matter of tracing a link between democracy and solidarity, but rather of identifying the value of solidarity as an indicator for assessing whether a political system can be still defined “democratic”.
