Abstract:

The essay traces the discipline of direct calls, which have always existed in the university system, highlighting how they represent a reflection of the overall trend of the relationship between politics and academia, between politics and knowledge, and in some cases the attempt of the former to dominate the latter for the most varied reasons, from the more noble, but often only in appearance, intended to guarantee the independence and impartiality of the latter, making use of the bad reputation it has sometimes earned. The regime of specialties introduced with the system (which is very complicated) of «direct calls» has de facto ended up creating a parallel system of access to university teaching which places a burden on the (systemic and cultural) unity and independence of the university
